Tech adoption scenarios for future 6G networks

As the world gears up for the next revolution in wireless communication, the ENABLE-6G initiative is leading the way in addressing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for future 6G networks. This ambitious project aims to enhance connectivity, meet higher performance demands, and address complex issues such as advanced object and environment sensing, precise localisation, and increasing privacy concerns.

The technology being developed under ENABLE-6G is groundbreaking, with panels designed to optimise 6G signals without the need for significant investments in the network infrastructure itself (RISC 6G), as well as privacy-preserving algorithms that ensure secure communication and data handling (MAP-6G). These innovations are poised to reshape the way we think about connectivity and data privacy in the coming years.

To further explore these developments, BluSpecs organised the Tech Adoption Scenarios for Future 6G Networks session on 15th January 2024. This event aimed to highlight the development of the MAP-6G and RISC-6G frameworks and provide profound insights into the market scenarios and adoption metrics that will define the next decade.

Panel Shaping the future: Creating global standards for tomorrow’s wireless networks

As technology propels us into the future, the development of wireless networks, particularly 6G, is a focal point of innovation. Our recent webinar brought together leading experts in the field for a dynamic panel discussion titled “Shaping the Future: Creating Global Standards for Tomorrow’s Wireless Networks.” Let’s delve into the key takeaways from this insightful session.

With the participation of experts Carlos Pedraz Rodríguez – Head of Business Development at Global Certification Forum (GCF), Rute C. Sofia – Head of Competence Field at fortiss, Mays AL-Naday – Senior Lecturer at University of Essex and moderated by Tanya Suarez, Our CEO.

Together they explored how Europe’s cutting-edge research and innovation in low-power communication network technologies, including Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), quantum communication, and artificial intelligence, are influencing and setting the pace for global standardization efforts.

According to the experts, the key ingredients for successful international collaboration on 6G standards as a crucial precondition for widespread market adoption are find the keyword use case, federation, open experimentation and making the level playing field for spectrum.

The future of wireless networks is being charted by collaborative efforts and global standards. This webinar panel provided a platform for experts to share their knowledge and vision, offering valuable insights that will shape the trajectory of 6G networks worldwide.

Panel How to update your wireless infrastructure and not die in the attempt.

As technology develops quicker than ever seen the conversations about the next generation of wireless networks, 6G in particular, manage to grasp the attention of many. In our recent webinar we managed to meet with multiple specialists and conduct a panel discussion titled “How to update your wireless infrastructure and not die in the attempt. RIS for cross-domain CEI applications”. Let’s look at the insights from this enriching session.

This discussion explored the vast benefits of 6G networks that are in development as well as how their implementation would benefit the future of people. Key takeaways from the projected benefits from 6G networks include AI integration to boost security, ubiquitous connectivity, integrated sensing and communication. With participation of the experts Joerg Widmer – Researcher director at IMDEA Networks Institute & coordinator of RISC 6G, Hahn Thomas – Chief Expert Software at Siemens AG, Francesco Devoti – Senior research Scientist at NEC Corporation and Brendan Rowan, our Managing Consultant.

The new features of the next generation of wireless networks aim to provide connectivity which never breaks down while ensuring the privacy and safety of the user.

Looking towards the future

Both panels offered valuable insights into the ongoing development of 6G networks and the essential role that MAP-6G and RISC-6G frameworks will play in shaping the digital landscape of tomorrow. The event underscored the significance of collaboration, innovation, and standardisation in driving the next wave of technological evolution, ensuring that 6G will meet the demands of businesses and individuals alike.

As we continue to advance towards the implementation of 6G, the expertise shared at these panels will help inform the decisions and strategies that will guide the adoption of these revolutionary technologies.
