INCLUDE launches in Heidelberg: Building Europe’s unified Computing Continuum
During July, INCLUDE officially launched with a kick off meeting in Heidelberg, Germany. Bringing together major industrial players, research organisations and digital experts, the meeting set the stage or an ambitious journey towards a more sovereign an integrated European digital landscape.
This initiative represents a significant European effort to unite two vital ecosystems; Cloud-Edge-IoT and Telco Networks, into a single, powerful 3C initiative. Rather than allowing these domains to evolve in isolation, INCLUDE aims to create genuine convergence between the infrastructure that powers connectivity and the platforms that host modern applications.
Uniting two vital ecosystems
The main objective is to gather, harmonise and consolidate the priorities, timelines and technical requirements of supply and demand side to stablish a unified, open and economically sustainable computing continuum across Europe
- Supply side actors: Large Scale Pilots, Open Internet Stack initiatives and industrial players
- Demand side stakeholders: Vertical application sector such as automotive, manufacturing and health
What INCLUDE will deliver
The initiative is structured to deliver several concrete, high-impact assets designed to drive adoption of the European Telco-Edge-Cloud architecture:
- A converged demand supply roadmap: A unified implementation framework spanning Europe, with version 1.0 due at Month 18, outlining open architectural components, market trends and business validation layers
- A shared governance framework: Operational blueprints and interproject mechanisms to guarantee collaboration and interoperability across European edge and cloud components
- The 3CN/OIS software catalogue: An interactive, community-based central repository showcasing validated software components, necessary datasets and cloud-native deployment units to help application builders scale efficiently.
- A developer handbook & training ecosystem: Open educational resources, developer handbooks and expert-led webinars designed to educate system integrators and open-source communities on building atop the 3C Network infrastructure.
Our role
We are injecting market intelligence and developer engagement to build the market channels and partnerships required for its scalable adoption.
- Delivering market, business and monetisation perspectives
- Designing the converged roadmap
- Mapping and outreach of system developers
Until the end of the year, we are moving straight into research, defining stakeholder lists and aligning with our consortium partners to ensure the upcoming large-scale pilot use cases hit the ground running.
